While many are not aware of the term transliteracy, college teaching faculty and instructors unbeknownst to themselves incorporate transliteracy outcomes into their instructional goals. I recently edited and added a large amount of new content to an online research guide – Information Fluency: Faculty and Instructors – aimed to build awareness of and value for the library’s Information Fluency Program at Red Deer College, Alberta. I included information about ACRL standards, assignment ideas, relevant videos, and assessment rubrics. Referring specifically to transliteracy in the guide when presenting various literacy frameworks, faculty and instructors are provided with clear and fundamental structures in support of learners. The response from colleagues and faculty has been overwhelmingly positive with encouragement to continue expanding and updating the guide.
